Wow!

We have collected £138.00 from four performances. Three at Llanerch Vineyard and one at Marks and Spencer where we shook our collection bucket.

Last year we celebrated with a McDonalds. This year we plan on treating ourselves to a lunchtime Greggs and buying microphone stands for our Springtime Showcase event. We plan to hold this event around Easter time for parents.

The children are already rehearsing for it and many have chosen their songs. The theme for the Springtime Showcase is 'Songs Through the Ages.'

If the success of the Summertime Showcase is anything to go by then parents and families will be in for a treat.

Thanks you so much for your support over the past few weeks with our Choir Christmas programme of events. Without parental help and support we would not have happy, singing children.

We have a great Choir family at Penygawsi and it is so lovely seeing all the different aged children work so hard together.

We have started a Mini Choir for Foundation Phase children, who sound fabulous too, and they will be performing in our end of term assembly tomorrow. It is great to have so many children interested in singing and working together.

Singing at Llanerch Vineyard.

We have performed 3 times at Llanerch Vineyard this Christmas and we always have a lovely welcome. The performances help to raise a great deal of money for the choir.

Parc Newydd 2017

The choir sang beautifully at Parc Newydd care home. After they sang they spoke to the people who lived there and enjoyed squash, crisps and chocolate as a treat. The residents really seemed to enjoy the choirs visit and commented on how lovely their Christmas jumpers were as well as how lovely they sang. I was very proud of them.

We had a huge crowd watching us today at M&S in Talbot Green.

The Choir sang beautifully again and we collected lots of money too.

Lunch with Santa at Llanerch Vineyard

There wasn’t many of us today but the children gave it their all to make everyone feel festive for Lunch with Santa at Llanerch Vineyard. Huge thanks to those of you who came 👍🏻

Junior Choir information

Sunday 17th December - Lunch With Santa at Llanerch Vineyard - Signing at 12pm, arrive at 11.45am.

I’m looking for parents to accompany us on our walk to Parc Newydd care home on Monday 18th at 11.15am and Wednesday 20th to M&S at 1:45 pm. Please ring school if you can help.

Choir at Marks and Spencer.

On December the 20th Choir are singing at Marks and Spencer in Talbot Green. 

I can now confirm that the time of the event is 2pm if you wish to come along and see us. This event is during school time. 

Thank you for being very understanding about the cancellation of Sunday’s event at the church. Many parents have said that they agreed with the decision.

Sunday 10th December- Llantrisant Church Christmas Tree Festival- Singing at 12.15pm, arrive at 12.00 md. Mini Choir can attend and perform at this event.

Choir in the Cwtch at Llanerch Vineyard.

What a lovely relaxed evening of songs and fun. 

Lots of children from our Choir were able to join us for ‘Choir in the Cwtch’ at Llanerch Vineyard. They sang with gusto and got us all into the Christmas spirit. 

We had a lovely welcome from Ryan and the staff at the Vineyard. After the event some of the children counted the donations we received and so far we have a total of over £43.00!  How wonderful!

Our Solo singers also had a huge cheer and a round of applause  👏  A great big well done to them. 

Our next performance will be at Llantrisant Christmas Tree Festival on Sunday. Mini Choir will also be joining us too.

Llanerch Vineyard December 3rd 2017.

Thank you to the children, their parents and grandparents for bringing them along to our second public Christmas Choir event at Llanerch Vineyard today. 

They performed a medley of around 10 Christmas songs for the guests as they arrived for lunch with Santa. 

The staff at the vineyard were delighted with their performance as were the guests. They said it was a fabulous seasonal touch. 

We are very proud of you indeed and you’ve already started to raise lots of money with your performances. 

Our next event is ‘Choir in the Cwtch’ at the vineyard on Wednesday evening.

2 Wish Shopping Evening

The choir's first Christmas event was at the annual 2 Wish Upon A Star Shopping evening.  We have been taking part in this special event for the past few years and it has become a highlight of our Christmas calendar.

This year we had the privilege to sing in the beautiful new atrium of the newly refurbished Y Pant Comprehensive School.  The setting was perfect with a huge colourful Christmas tree by our side.  There were many familiar faces from mums, dads, granddads and grandmas, yet there were new faces watching us too.  The comments once the choir had sung were wonderful and as a teacher I was extremely proud of each and every one of the children.  It is no mean feat to stand up in front of a crowd of people and perform, so well done everyone!

Take a look at the photos and videos from the performance.  There is no denying the children put us all in the festive spirit.  Lots more events coming up, keep those vocal chords warm our little lovelies :O)

The following information is for the children in our Junior Choir with one exception for Mini Choir.

This Year's Choir Christmas Performances.

For each event the children are requested to wear Christmas Jumpers. Please complete the attendance slip that your child will bring home so we can accommodate numbers for each event.

Dates, Venue and Arrival Times.

Friday 24th November - 2 Wish Upon A Star Shopping Evening at Y Pant Comprehensive - Singing at 5pm, arrive at 4.45pm.

Wednesday 6th December - 'Choir in The Cwtch' - Llanerch Vineyard - Singing at 6.30pm, arrive at 6.15pm.
